Where Creativity Thrives and Healing Begins

Artful Narrative Studio

Artful Narrative Studio is my working artist studio and gallery space at the Dilworth ArtisanStation in Charlotte’s South End. It’s where I paint, experiment, and display my current work, but it has also grown into a space where people come to create, explore, and share their own work.

Along side my paintings, I create custom narrative pieces - often without reference photos - working from stories, memories and ideas people carry but don’t quite know how to express visually. I also host workshops, mentor artists in the studio, and invite guest artist to exhibit their work during First Friday gallery crawls.

My work leans toward expression and storytelling, with a strong belief that art and color hold energy. In a world that often feels overwhelming, I see creative work as a way to process, reconnect and shift something internally - sometimes in quite ways, sometimes in powerful ones.

You’re always welcome to stop by during the First Friday Gallery Crawls, or you can reach out and schedule a visit. If you’re curious about my work, interested in a commission, or just want to spend time in a creative space, I’d love to have you come by.

Artful Narrative Studio is located at the Dilworth Artisan Station, in Charlotte’s Historic South End. It is open to the public by appointment Monday-Friday, and during our monthly First Friday Gallery Crawls

REGISTER FOR A WORKSHOP

I teach a variety of art classes and creative workshops both in my studio and occasionally off-site.

Some sessions focus on painting techniques and portrait work, while others explore creativity more broadly—bringing together art, writing, color exploration, and reflective creative exercises.

Because my schedule shifts with my studio practice and other projects, workshops aren’t always posted on a regular calendar. Many sessions are arranged for small groups who want to come together for a creative experience.

If you’re interested in a class or would like to bring a group to the studio, reach out and we can talk about options.

Exhibitions & Guest Artists

Artful Narrative Studio serves as a gallery space within Dilworth Artisan Station. I invite both emerging and established artists to exhibit their work here during First Friday Gallery Crawls, when the building comes alive with visitors. For many, it’s a chance to experience what it feels like to show their work publicly - to be seen, to start conversations and to be a part of a larger creative community.

In addition to hosting guest artists, I also develop and present my own exhibitions and installations. My current project, “I Can Hold Your Heavy” is an interactive exhibition, created in collaboration with Kiah Bauhman, centers on the emotional weight we carry and how we move through the world holding it.

If you are an artist interested in exhibiting your work, you are welcome to reach out and share your portfolio. I review submissions and select work that aligns with the spirit of then studio and the community here.
